When is the Granite Oaks Dance Team season?

We will begin our first practices during the last week of July during our mandatory dance camp at Rocklin High School! Our season will begin during the first week of school and extend through mid-December.

When do we hold team practices during the school year?

Practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 4:45 pm.

Where does the Granite Oaks Dance Team perform?

We perform at school rallies, fall, and winter Granite Oaks home sporting events. We will also make a special appearance at one Rocklin and one Whitney high school football game. Performances can be any day of the week. There is usually an average of 3 performances a month. Our goal is to promote Granite Oaks, entertain fans, and prepare students who may want to be on the dance teams in high school.

What is the cost to be on the Granite Oaks Dance Team?

Parents must pay for the cost of camp, $215, our largest expense, as well as our uniform. We attempt to keep costs down as much as possible. The typical cost is $400 - $500 for the season.

When are auditions for the team?

Due to COVID-19, the GOMS Dance Team will be holding virtual tryouts to keep everyone's best interests at heart while we all practice social distance and shelter-in-place protocols. Auditions will be open from May 1st, 2020, to May 8th, 2020.

What to expect at auditions?

Dancers we will be asked to show their dance technique across the floor with kicks, leaps, and turns. Dancers will also be taught a short routine to be performed for critique by judges. For more information regarding our auditions, please see our upcoming auditions page HERE.

How many dancers are selected for the team?

Like any sport, the dance team cannot take everyone and will select the best dancers who audition. We will select between 10-15 members for the dance team.
